The Orchestra Of The Filipino Youth

NURTURING TALENTED, LESS PRIVILEGED YOUTH THROUGH THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF ORCHESTRAL MUSIC

The Orchestra of the Filipino Youth (OFY) is the main performing arm of Ang Misyon. Under the baton of Gerard Salonga and guidance of professional mentors, the OFY curriculum is specifically curated for a high-quality youth orchestra. The one-on-one lessons, sectional workshops, and master classes give them the opportunity to learn challenging pieces ranging from classical and pop music.

OFY

The OFY has performed internationally in countries such as Malaysia, United States and Qatar, wherein they were the first Filipino symphony orchestra to have played in Katara Opera House. Notable local events include performances in venues such as the Cultural Center of the Philippines, as well as concerts in Iloilo, Dumaguete and Batangas. They have also played for large public audiences around Metro Manila such as at the Power Plant Mall, Sun Life Amphitheater, Robinsons Galleria, and Shangri-la Plaza Mall.

OFY2

Scholars of the OFY have also grown to become mentors of the younger musicians, sharing their learnings and experiences from Ang Misyon as a way of paying it forward. Continuing the mission after a decade of transforming lives through the power of music, Ang Misyon will go on this new chapter with unwavering dedication. Ang Misyon and OFY will orchestrate a better tomorrow, creating a legacy of inspiration that will echo for the next generation of musicians.
