The Board of Directors of First Philippine Holdings Corporation approved today the board committee appointments of Mr. Juan B. Santos and Ambassador Cesar B. Bautista.
Mr. Santos was incorporated as member of the Nomination and Election Committee and of the Audit Committee. He was elected as an independent director of First Holdings last June 4, 2009. He was the former Chairman of Nestlé Philippines, Inc. and its first Filipino president as well. He was also a former Secretary of Trade and Industry, and was given the distinction by the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) as the 1994 Management Man of the Year Awardee.
Ambassador Bautista was appointed as member of the Compensation & Remuneration Committee and of the Chairman’s Compensation & Remuneration Committee. He has been an independent director of First Holdings since June 29, 2007. Prior to this, he held many positions in the government and was part of the diplomatic corps. He was Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, and Republic of Iceland. He was Permanent Representative to the United Nations International Maritime Organization and was President and Chairman of Philippine Refining Company Inc. – Unilever.
